Tapestries
Kate Schreyer

Of the additional, of the added and added.

To be turned into a tree or a Chimera.

The endless wish to. Standing. Sitting.

In the night weaving and weaving the day.

The weak, pulling the hair out.

Dyeing the hair into a face. Gardens

of tapestries. Sarah and her age.

Procne the bird. The brain blossomed through

the ages from the center out. The first

black lake is circled and circled

by the body, by the eye behind the eye,

reptilian, fluttering, that was your own

to carry. Half forgotten, valley, tower, gut,

in the recession of space where movement,

a lie, is the biggest lie. There is the mirror.

There is always a mirror to stop in.
