Try to focus less on what happens than what happens next. I raise my hands to form an ell on the steering wheel. Then don’t turn. They can’t put out the fires. Meanwhile, some sailboats almost collide and a man in a suit smiles outside the predictions. A meal is a story after it’s eaten. Inside the man-sized safe, the man can’t sleep for the racket. Who is stealing in. Robber, farmer, burglar, pirate. Landscape of geodesic domes with loose knobs. Everybody calks. The schedule assigns tasks to personalities assessed by tests. It sounds perfect, right? And if I had a plane I’d fly around the world if I knew how to fly a plane.
